East Gwillimbury's First Citizenship Ceremony

Description: On August 14th the Sharon Temple National Historic Site & Museum in partnership with Immigration, Refugees, Citizenship Canada and the Institute of Canadian Citizenship hosted the first ever Citizenship Ceremony in East Gwillimbury. Prior to the ceremony the ICC hosted round table discussions which offered a unique opportunity for the candidates for citizenship to reflect on what it means to be Canadian, the value of active citizenship, and their personal journeys to citizenship.
